Approach & Style
How would you describe your photographic style?
My approach combines disciplined documentary coverage with confidently directed editorial portraiture. Much of the day is photographed unobtrusively, allowing events to unfold naturally. When time allows, portraits are composed with intention, using architecture, light and proportion to shape the frame. Examples of this balance can be seen throughout the wedding portfolio.
Do you direct during the day?
Yes, when appropriate. Documentary coverage remains the foundation, however portraits are directed clearly and confidently. This ensures the resulting images feel composed rather than accidental, particularly within historic venues where structure and scale matter. Do you work mainly in colour or black and white?
Colour remains my default. Tone and atmosphere are treated with discipline and intention. Black and white is used sparingly and only where it strengthens form and contrast.
Coverage & Logistics
How long do you cover on a wedding day?
Wedding collections provide full day coverage, typically beginning during preparations and continuing through to the early part of the evening celebrations, usually around an hour after the first dance. My aim is to tell the complete story of the day without rushing. Full details are outlined on the investment page.
Do you work with a second photographer?
Yes. A trusted second photographer accompanies me at every wedding, ensuring greater coverage and additional perspective throughout the day.
Have you worked at our venue before?
I regularly photograph weddings at castles and country houses across Kent and East Sussex, including Hever Castle, Wadhurst Castle, Allington Castle and Bradbourne House and more.
If your venue is one I have not previously photographed, we arrive early and take time to walk the space before coverage begins, noting the layout, light and architectural features. This ensures the day is approached with preparation rather than improvisation.
Investment & Booking
What is the starting investment?
Wedding collections begin at £2800. Further details about what is included can be found on the investment page.
How do we secure our date?
Following an initial conversation and confirmation of availability, a signed agreement and deposit secure the date. You may begin the process via the contact page.
How far in advance should we book?
Most couples enquire twelve to eighteen months in advance. Popular dates, particularly during summer, tend to secure earlier.
After the Wedding
When will we receive our images?
I deliver your completed gallery within three weeks of the wedding, presented in a private online gallery for viewing, downloading and print ordering.
Do you offer albums?
Yes. I offer a range of handmade albums, produced by a supplier I have worked with for over fifteen years and selected carefully for their craftsmanship and materials. Design and material options are discussed during a dedicated consultation.
Do you travel for weddings outside Kent?
Yes. I photograph weddings throughout the UK as well as internationally. International commissions have included weddings in Italy and France and Greece. The same approach and attention to structure and light applies regardless of location. Examples can be seen within international commissions.
Practical Considerations
Are you insured?
Yes. I hold full professional indemnity and public liability insurance, as required by established venues.
What happens if it rains?
Rain is accounted for from the outset. When I photograph weddings at historic venues, I identify interior locations and covered areas in advance so that portraiture can be created with intention whatever the conditions.
If the weather changes, I adjust the plan rather than forcing it. The day continues smoothly and the photography remains structured and considered. Weather rarely limits strong imagery, particularly within venues featured on the Kent castle & country house weddings page.
